Tottenham Hotspur Stadium: Pipework Solutions for the Iconic Building

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

The Pipework Behind Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

A true icon of modern stadium architecture, Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium is home to the loved North London team, however the building itself plays a much more pivotal role in the local area.

A hub for international sporting excellence, Live entertainment, and now a popular tourist attraction with “The Dare Skywalk”, Tottenham Hotspur stadium hosts some of the biggest names, to the biggest audiences.  Is it the largest club stadium in London, utilising all available space, even the underground level of the stadium is now home to an F1 karting experience having opened only last year. Every attention has been given to making this space a multi-purpose, multi-faceted venue, unrivalled by other North London venue spaces.

The team designed the stadium to bring the fans closer to the pitch than any other stadium. With an estimated two million visitors and £344 million input to the local economy, Tottenham Hotspur’s Stadium proves that investment in top-quality venues has a huge impact on the local area. Not only is the stadium of social and economic importance but it has also been designed with environmental impact at its core. The stadium is powered by 100% renewable energy and a zero-waste-to-landfill policy.

Building started on this project in 2016 and the project was delivered in 2019, the culmination of three years work.

We were so happy to have contributed to this ambitious project. We were provided with a unique challenge, supporting the capacity of over 62,000 with pipes that would stand the test of time whilst working and installing in a highly populated, metropolitan area.

Abbey pipework was given the extensive task of working alongside other contractors to provide a variety of different prefabricated pipes to accommodate the building’s needs.

Our contribution

We were able to utilise our expertise to provide the building with low-temperature hot water (LTHW), chilled water (CHW), and gas pipes in 21/2”NB to 12″NB. In doing so we were able to play our part in making this venue the diverse and iconic stadium it is recognised to be today.

We were so proud to have supplied such crucial pipework to help maintain the streamlined function of such an iconic building as Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium.

Whether you are there for a football match, to watch the NFL, to see your favourite global artist, or to partake in The Dare Skywalk, we just know you will have an outstanding experience.
